Don’t you wish you had a place where you could easily reference all the summer essentials you need to take a vacation or plan a party with some awesome drinks?!  Well, thankfully you have found the right place!  And if you are looking for insight on recipes, tips and tricks for surviving the summer outdoors, from sun-kissed skin, to those pesky outdoor annoyances, to having flip-flop ready feet, then you need to read my first post here.

Summer Essentials

Summer is full of Road Trips.  We are planning to our own Road Trip (Project #wildwildwest is commencing mid-June with three kids 4 and under in a car for two weeks while we terrorize NM, AZ, and Utah while visiting every national park we can possibly squeeze in during that time period!), and trust me part of my summer essentials includes having not one, but TWO diffusers ready for our trip!  haha  I have lots of fun diffuser combos planned, including Harmony & Orange, Lime & Joy, Frankincense & Bergamot, and this one:

Of course, among our summer essentials will be Thieves products.  I just cashed in my ER points and nabbed these goodies for free for our own upcoming vacation.  Thieves is a blend of Lemon, Cinnamon, Clove, Rosemary, and Eucalyptus Radiata. Thieves® essential oil blend was inspired by the legend of four 15th-century French thieves who formulated a special aromatic combination composed of clove, rosemary, and other botanicals they used while robbing the dead and dying. Young Living’s one-of-a-kind Thieves blend, crafted in the spirit of that legendary combination, can be found in all of our Thieves products from laundry detergent to dish soap to the Thieves Spray and the Thieves Purifier which are incredible for all the places and spaces you will go on a road trip (or really anywhere!!).  These are both mainstays for me in my purse for public bathrooms, restaurant tables, and my hands after touching public places.

Who doesn’t love the smell of summer?  Even if you are not heading out to the beach or it is a gloomy day in your home due to the rain, you can easily enjoying and incorporate the smells of summer into your home with some fun diffuser combos.  Whether you are wishing you were heading out to a lake house tucked away in the trees or sipping a Mai Tai off the coast of an exotic island, there is a summer combo perfect for you!

And who doesn’t love summer cooking?  Grilling out in the backyard, kids and pets running free, enjoying the long summer nights and the lazy Saturdays where school and sports slow down for a very short respite.  I can already smell our grill firing up fresh veggies and all the smells of the marinades that would be rising up from the meat my husband and kiddos eat.  Can’t you just smell it too?  Yummy!  I think maybe this is what we will be doing for dinner this weekend. 🙂

Marinades

While dinner is cooking on the grill, lounge away in the backyard and sip on a refreshing drink. I can already picture this exploding in my mouth, the fresh strawberry pieces, the burst of lemon, the cool drink on a hot day.

Strawberry LemonadeAnd since summer calls for a time to eat (check), drink (check), we need the piece de résistanceBe Merry!  A perfect summer night with a great meal calls for the perfect margarita and here’s an amazing recipe for you full of yummy, natural ingredients perfect to wind down with at the end of a hot, summer day!

The Perfect Margarita

Ok.  Confession time.  I know you are ready for summer now after reading this post, am I right?!  Ok.  Even if you don’t want to admit it, I’ll admit for both of us.  I am sooooo ready for the summer fun to start.   Armed with my summer essentials, I know I for one am already enjoying my summer.  It’s Hammock Time here right now!  What are you going to diffuse today?
